I have a bunch of runes i have been thinking of using. But ive been wanting to save them for better weapons. I can just expert salvage my weapon and chances are get my rune back right? Or should i hold them? Also i have some runes that wont apply to my character. I would like to sell them but have no idea how much runes are worth, anyone have a rule of thumb price guide on ruins?

The rule of thumb is...

Apply any minor rune to what ever armor or weapon you plan on wearing for a few levels. You have a decent 50/50 shot of removing it when you are done, and they are cheap to replace... most minor runes run anywhere from 250 to 1000 gold (not much in the long run) depending on the type... minor vigor and minor swordsmanship tend to sell at the highs.

Either SELL or wait to apply major or surperior runes until you get your 20th lvl armor, unless it is a rune that is considered low demand (like Major Protection runes as one example.) These major runes sell anywhere from 1500 on up (these range wildly depending on the time of day lol. The surperior ones are VERY expensive and I have seen the surperior vigor sell for 15k gold.

Yes you can salvage your runes out, but there is a chance that they will not come out.
